[00:00:00] I'm Christine Santos, ex corporate woman turned founder of my own boutique podcast production company. And it wasn't that long ago that I lacked the knowledge, the time and the community to focus on growing my small but fun and exciting business. Through it all, I've had many challenges and failures and lessons learned.
[00:00:26] Today, I have so much fun helping others change lives and having the time and choices that allows me to spend more time with my family. It wasn't too long ago that this was just a someday dream. I created the Wonder Boldly podcast to give you inspiration with actionable steps. to help you go after your someday dream now.
[00:00:55] If you're ready to take your days, weeks, months, life back into your own hands, or you're just curious what it means to create a business that makes an impact in a life you love, you are in the right place. Let's go. Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to another episode of Wonder Boldly, the podcast where your entrepreneurial dreams become reality.
[00:01:25] I'm your host, Christine Santos, and today we're diving into a crucial topic that many businesses face at some point in their journey. Business stagnation, right? You've had a few clients, things are going great, you're super excited. A little bit more come in and then all of a sudden it's crickets. Oh no.
[00:01:47] If your business has hit a plateau and you're not seeing the growth you envisioned, this episode is for you. We'll explore practical strategies to reignite your momentum and push your business to new heights. So let's get started. First, let's define what we mean by business stagnation. Okay, here we go.
[00:02:08] Definition time. Stagnation occurs when your business growth slows down or stops entirely. That's super scary, right? This can manifest as flat sales, and it can manifest as flat sales. Reduce customer engagement or lack of new ideas and innovation. It's important to recognize the signs early on so you can take proactive steps to address them.
[00:02:33] All right, let's discuss some common reasons why. Number one complacency. When things are going well, it's easy to get comfortable and stop pushing for improvement. I know I've done that. That definitely speaks to me. However, that can lead to a lack of innovation and growth, right? So we've had some great ideas.
[00:02:54] We maybe create a new package or something new we've learned and we're sharing it with our community. And then we see this influx of engagement and excitement and then we stop innovating or we stop getting really excited about what we're doing. Number two, things change. The market is always evolving, right?
[00:03:20] It's like, it's moving underneath our feet. Is that the expression? What worked a few years ago maybe isn't effective today. Gary Vee talks about this a lot. Yeah. Staying attuned to trends and customer needs is so essential. Number three. Inefficiencies in your business. What do I mean by this? Over time, your processes become outdated.
[00:03:45] It's inevitable. And it really makes it difficult. things inefficient and slows you down. Number four, lack of clear goals. I have a great friend and client, Lori Gouin, who is an expert in helping you with your goals. I'll put her information in the show notes. You can reach out to her because without clear, actionable goals.
[00:04:08] It's difficult to measure progress and stay motivated. Okay, so now that we've identified some of the common causes, let's dive into some action steps. First and foremost, re evaluate your business goals. Are they still relevant and aligned with your vision? Set some SMART goals for yourself. This can provide real clarity and direction for you.
[00:04:33] Again, I'll put Lori's information in the show notes. Reach out to her. She so can help you with this. She's an expert, expert, expert in this. Next is innovate and diversify. Explore new products, services, or markets. Conduct market research to identify unmet needs or emerging trends. Don't be afraid to experiment and take calculated risks.
[00:04:58] Okay, I'm going to give you an example. With my business, there's all these new great tools. And I either purchase them or try their free versions and I find which ones I like and I use them and I show my clients how to use them if they're editing their own podcast or if they're creating their own social media reels and things like that.
[00:05:19] I'm always saying on top of for podcasting, what are the tools, new tools are coming out all the time that are making our lives easier. So I'm always learning those and sharing those with my clients. Another thing when it comes to technology is look at what you're currently using. Probably a topic for another time, but look at all the tools maybe that you have signed up for, or subscriptions that you have.
[00:05:44] Really eliminate those things that you're not using anymore. You get charged maybe once a year so you forget about it, and then you get charged again the next year and you're like, Oh, I totally forgot I was doing that. I don't even use that anymore. So take a look at that. But leverage technology to streamline your operations and improve efficiency.
[00:06:01] This can mean new software. So get rid of the old, get some new, automating tasks. Having best practices also is really, really important. And those change over time. So like I said, I'll give you another example. For my business, I have new tools and new tools come out. I try a handful, then I pick the ones that I like best.
[00:06:21] And then if I'm onboarding somebody to help me in my business. I now have to update my best practices because it no longer applies to the new tool. So keep things fresh, engage with your customers, listen to their feedback and make improvements based on their suggestions. Now I'm saying this and I know you're thinking because we're all there, we're like, talk to us, please talk to us, tell us what you want.
[00:06:44] I'm here to help. How can I do a better job? So definitely, definitely. If you're listening to this and you are interested in finding out more about working with me or just want some help with something, I am so happy to create an episode for you to create a video for you that will help you grow your business, help you share your message.
[00:07:06] So you have to reach out and that really, really helps us. Finally, consider collaborations and partnerships. Partnering with other businesses can open up new opportunities and expand your reach. Before we wrap up, let's recap the key points. One, re evaluate your business and your goals. Two, innovate and diversify your offerings.
[00:07:29] Three, leverage technology to improve efficiency. Four, engage with your customers and act on their feedback. So I didn't say that earlier, but that's really important. If they're giving you feedback and you're not acting on it, that's no good. So we want the feedback and it's very important that we respect that they took the time to give us the feedback.
[00:07:51] So we need to address that. And five, explore collaborations and partnerships. If you just focus. Even on one of these things, you are going to break free from that stagnation and reignite your business growth. Remember, every business faces challenges, but it's how you respond to them that defines your success.
